Mavs Lose: 3 - 5
The Mavs took a 3-0 lead early in the second period before ending up losing 5-3 to the determined Fenton-Linden Griffins Tuesday night in the first round of Regionals at Oak Park. Things were going well for Milford (14-12) until Senior Captain and leading scorer Jack Clickett went down with a lower body injury in the second.  The short benched Mavs tried valiantly to hold on to the lead, but the Griffins (12-14) weren't going to be denied this night. Senior Ryan Okragly and Sophomore Will Fulton each had a goal and an assist, Sophomore Alex Kozar scored and Seniors Thomas Kennedy IV, Captain Shane Quinn and James Zielke had helpers, as did Freshmen Craig Borges. Junior Mav tendy Cooper Langley finished with 32 saves, while his Fenton-Linden counterpart Porter Lobocki had 40. On behalf of Mav Hockey, a humongous THANK YOU to our Parents, Student Section, Administration and Community for your support this year!  And THANKS to our graduating Seniors, class acts to say the least, Jack Clickett, Ryan Okragly, Thomas Kennedy IV, Joe Meagher, Shane Quinn and James Zielke, for your dedication and contribution to Milford Hockey!

Mavs Win: 5 - 4
The Mavs beat the Walled Lake Northern Knights 5-4 in OT Saturday night at Lakeland. The Knights (10-10-2) played a physical, playoff-like, old school brand of hockey with a focus on containing Milford's leading scorer, Captain Jack Clickett, but Clicks played through the physicality on his way to two goals, including the OT winner, as he reached the 100 point milestone in his third season as a Mav! Milford led 2-0 after one period, before the Knight's Andrew Evans sniped a couple in the second to tie it at two after two. The Mavs took a 4-2 lead early in the third before Northern scored two goals in the last two minutes of the period, both with their goalie pulled, to send the game into the always exciting extra stanza. But Clickett and the Mavs were able to reenergize and regroup and pull out the W against the determined and well coached Knights as Captain Jack slammed home a rebound off a Will Fulton shot for the W three minutes into the eight minute OT session. Milford (14-10) tendy Cooper Langley finished with 50 saves on the night and earned The Chain for his outstanding effort in a heartfelt performance that had special meaning as he surely had his Uncle Matt in his heart. Thomas Kennedy IV and Fulton both had a goal and an assist, Alex Kozar scored with a sweet deke early in the third to give the Mavs a 3-2 lead, and Brady Flanigan, Ryan Okragly and Stevan Vujic each had helpers. Milford has a week of practice before hosting Northville next Saturday, 7PM at Hartland as the Mavs continue to prepare for a rematch with rink mates Fenton-Linden Tuesday Feb 21 at Oak Park in the opening round of Regionals. Thank you to our awesome Parents and Student Section who certainly helped spur the Mavs on to the finish line tonight!

Mavs Win: 9 - 5
Senior Night was special as the Mavs upended South Lyon Unified, a hardworking club that had won six straight, 9-5, Tuesday night at Hartland. Senior Captain Jack Clickett was a force with three goals and three assists to give Captain Clicks 98 career total points in his third season as a Mav.  Senior Ryan Okragly had two goals and a helper, Senior Captain Shane Quinn had three assists, Senior Thomas Kennedy IV had two assists, and Senior James Zielke scored on a nice deflection early in the third.  The only Senior not to register a point on Senior Night was Joe 'Hollywood' Meagher, but 'Hollywood' went one step better by dueting the National Anthem with friend Vivien Lakin in one of the better live renditions you'll hear at any level. Will Fulton scored two, Craig Borges had one, which turned out to be the game winner late in the second, Steven Vujic had two assists and Alex Kozar one to complete the scoring for Milford. Mav tendy Cooper Langley finished with 32 saves as Milford (13-10) got back on the winning track after losing their last two tilts.  Mav Senior Zielke was awarded The Chain for his early third period tip in, his second goal in as many nights. Milford travels to Lakeland Saturday for a 6PM drop against Walled Lake Northern as the Mavs set their sights on Regionals starting Feb 21. Congratulations Senior Parents and THANK YOU for your help in putting together an awesome Senior Night for our Team and Parents!
Boys Varsity Ice Hockey vs. Lakeland High School

Mavs Lose: 0 - 4
The Lakeland Eagles (17-2) clinched the LVC Championship with a 4-0 whitewashing of the Mavs Wednesday night at Hartland. Milford (12-9) was outcoached, outdisciplined, and outscored by the well-coached, disciplined and determined Eagles' squad, who played without two of their top five defensemen and set aside personal agendas for the betterment of their Team. The Mavs PK was a lone bright spot for Milford, as they successfully killed off two five-minute major penalties, nearly a period's worth of short handedness, not an ideal position to be in when you're looking to repeat as Conference Champions and needed the victory to stay in contention. Lakeland tendy Paul Baker earned the shutout with 23 saves, including a left pad kick save on a Penalty Shot while the score was 2-0 to kill potential Mav momentum early in the second.  Milford's Cooper Langley finished with 41 saves while giving his teammates a chance to claw back before the Mavs threw in the towel with their second five minute major penalty with 8 minutes left in the third and down 4-0. Hopefully the Mavs will compete with a modicum of self-restraint, emotional control and self-discipline in the final couple weeks of the season before they start Regionals with a potential rematch with the LVC Champs Eagles the week of February 24. Milford hosts the Saginaw area FNV Griffins Monday in a make-up game 5:00PM at Hartland, before they honor their six Seniors - Jack Clickett, Thomas Kennedy IV, Ryan Okragly, Joe 'Hollywood' Meagher, James Zielke and Shane Quinn on Tuesday night, 7PM at Hartland in a league game against South Lyon. Please c'mon out and cheer your classmates and Community representatives on as they continue to give their all.

Mavs Win: 6 - 4
Senior Captain Jack Clickett scored in barrels netting four goals in the last half of the game Monday night against league foe Walled Lake Northern (7-9-2) leading the Mavs to a tight 6-4 win. The Knights took a 2-0 lead after just seven minutes on goals from Sean Ahrens and Andrew Evans before Sophomore Alex Kozar sniped his first of two goals to make it 2-1 after one period. Evans struck again just 30 seconds into the second to make it 3-1 before Kozar answered four minutes later to draw the Mavs (12-8) within one.  The rest of the game was the Captain Clicks show as he scored two to make it 4-3 Mavs after two periods and followed with another deuce in the third, including an empty netter with 36 seconds remaining to complete the scoring. Milford tendy Cooper Langley finished with 35 saves, including a couple of beauts in the last minute of the game as the Mavs fought off an undisciplined, late game, two minute head check penalty. Junior Stevan Vujic finished with three assists, Seniors Ryan Okragly and Shane Quinn each had two helpers, while Brady Flanigan and Thomas Kennedy IV each had one. Sophomore Kozar earned The Chain for his two goals, penalty killing prowess and solid play in the DZone while he played wing tonight, instead of his usual center spot. The Mavs host LVC leader Lakeland (16-2) Wednesday night, 5:30 at Hartland in a rematch of the Eagles 2-1 OT victory over Milford on Dec. 10.  If you like hockey and rivalry games, or just love sports and watching two teams giving everything they've got to represent their schools and communities, you won't want to miss this game!

Mavs Win: 4 - 3
The Mavs won by a nose in a thrilling OT Shootout 4-3 Saturday afternoon over West Ottawa (8-10) at The MPHSH in Chelsea. Milford went into the third period down 3-2 before Ryan Okragly pounded home a rebound off a Jack Clickett shot just 36 seconds after puck drop to knot the score at three. The Mavs went on a Power Play with 1:40 left, but were unable to generate any quality scoring chances.  The Panthers, on the other hand, had a shorthanded breakaway with under a minute to go that Milford tendy Cooper Langley steered aside to keep the game even. In the event of a tie after regulation, The Showcase used a three man shootout instead of the usual 8 minute sudden death OT session to determine the winner. The Mavs elected to shoot first with team point leader Clickett rattling the post and in glove side on the WO tendy before the Mav's second shooter Will Fulton faked a shot forcing the WO goalie to drop before he deked glove side for the Mav's second goal in as many attempts. That was all Milford (11-8) needed as Langley rejected both shootout opportunities he faced and finished with 39 saves to lead the Mavs to victory. Senior Captain Shane Quinn and Freshmen Craig Borges also scored in regulation for Milford, and Sophomores Alex Kozar and Fulton both had helpers, as did Senior James Zielke. Junior DMan Brady Flanigan earned The Chain for his rock solid defensive performance while playing every other shift and sometimes double shifting while Milford played with only three D for nearly half a period. The Mavs host Walled Lake Northern Monday 6:30 at Hartland as they're back to Lakes Valley Conference play where Milford continues to defend last season's LVC Championship. Rock out your Finals then c'mon out and celebrate the end of the semester while rooting on your classmates!

Mavs Lose: 2 - 7
The Mavs came ready to race Saturday afternoon against Father Gabriel Richard/Greenhills Irish, but came up a couple noses short against the talented Irish, a team that Milford had beaten the past three seasons. The Irish led 1-0 after one period and stretched their lead to 4-0 lead early in the third before the Mavs Joe 'Hollywood' Meagher filled boardpad farside off of a wall-to-wall feed from Sophomore Alex Kozar, who was glad to be back in the lineup after a two game absence, giving the Mavs some hope with plenty of game to go. But AAGR/Greenhills scored back-to-back-to-back goals to give the Irish a comfortable lead before Senior Captain Jack Clickett banged in a PP rebound goal with help from Will Fulton and Kozar to complete the scoring. The Mavs host the FNV Griffins Wednesday 6PM at Hartland and would love to see the Mav Maniacs gettin' nutty supporting their classmates!

Mavs Lose: 1 - 2
The Mav's four game winning streak came to a screeching halt as the Ann Arbor River Rats beat Milford 2-1 in OT Friday night at the Ann Arbor Ice Cube. Senior Captain Jack Clickett scored a short handed beauty while sliding on his knees after being hauled down by a Rat's defender with just under two minutes remaining in the second period to tie it up 1-1 going into the third. Mav tendy Cooper Langley was busy with 34 saves on the night and gave his teammates a chance for the win over the hard working Ann Arbor club who ended the game halfway through the eight minute OT session for their seventh win of the season. Milford returns to Ann Arbor's Cube for a Saturday 2PM matinee tilt against highly ranked Father Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard/Greenhills.

Mavs Win: 7 - 4
The Mavs beat Troy United Wednesday night 7-4 at Hartland. Milford had a balanced scoring attack led by Senior Captain Jack Clickett with two goals and one assist, liney Will Fulton wth a goal and three helpers, Griffin Cook with two goals, Shane Quinn and Thomas Kennedy IV each had one and one, and Matthew Menzies with an apple.   Sophomore tendy Jesse Lee had 24 saves and was credited with the win in his first start of his goaltending career much to the delight of his Teammates. Cook earned The Chain for his offensive output and solid defensive play. The Mavs (10-6) travel to Ann Arbor's Ice Cube this weekend for a Friday 5PM matchup with Ann Arbor Huron and a Saturday tilt with the highly ranked Father Gabriel Richard/Greenhills Irish at 2PM.

Mavs Win: 6 - 5
Captain Jack Clickett continued his intense goal scoring streak with his second four goal outburst in the past three games leading the Mavs to a nail-biting 6-5 win over the KLAA  Conference Canton Chiefs Saturday night in Canton. Clickett lasered two third period twine ticklers that erased Canton's 5-4 lead after two stanzas and gave the Mavs their third win in a row and seventh in their past eight games. Milford killed off six Canton Power Play opportunities, thanks to Mav tendy Cooper Langley, who finished with 36 saves and Milford's solid defensive core of Captain Shane Quinn, Alternate Captain Thomas Kennedy IV, Alternate Captain Stevan Vujic, Junior Brady Flanigan and Sophomore Matthew Menzies. Sophomore Alex Kozar and Junior Griffin Cook both had a goal and an assist, Freshmen multi sport stud Craig Borges had two helpers, including a heady pass-off-pad play that Clicks banged home for his team leading 20th goal of the season while Sophomore Will Fulton and Vujic each had assists. Captain Clickett earned The Chain for his spectacular night, gladly accepting it post-game from Vujic, who was awarded the honor by his teammates after last Wednesday's victory. The Mavs host Troy United Wednesday 5:30PM at Hartland in another non-league tilt as they continue preparing for their remaining four LVC Conference matchups with the goal of defending their title as well as the quickly approaching Regionals.

Mavs Win: 2 - 1
Junior Stevan Vujic bombed a blue line seed, board pad far side, by Lakes Area Unified's tough tendy Tyler Long with just under three minutes remaining in the third, which turned out to be the game winning goal Wednesday night in Milford's 2-1 victory over the Unified team consisting of Waterford's Mott and Kettering, Walled Lake Central and West Bloomfield.  Freshmen Craig Borges and Sophomore Alex Kozar assisted on Vujic's game winning one-timer. Senior Jack Clickett sniped a breakaway goal 24 seconds into the third to give the Mavs a 1-0 advantage after two scoreless periods that featured outstanding goaltending by both Milford's Cooper Langley and Lakes Area's Long, former Lakeland Travel teammates.  Lakes Area's Jake Shottroff pulled his team within one goal with 1:18 left with Lakes Area remaining on a Power Play, but Langley and his Mavs were able to close out the exciting contest. The Mavs, who have won six of their last seven games, travel to Canton's Arctic Edge to face the KLAA Conference Chiefs Saturday at 6PM.

Mavs Win: 5 - 2
Captain Jack Clickett erupted for four goals Saturday night to lead the Mavs to a gritty 5-2 victory over the Walled Lake Western/Pinckney Unified Warriors (6-3-1) in Milford's first tilt of 2023, avenging the Warriors win over the Mavs sixteen days earlier to close out 2022. Captain Jack paced the Mavs to a 1-0 lead late in the first before the Warriors tied it up halfway through the second to set up an exciting third period of puck. Mav Senior Ryan Okragly, who makes a living scoring dirty, doghouse area rebound goals, ala the 70's Hall of Famer Phil Esposito, set the pace in the third for Milford with his second ESPN Top Ten highlight reel snipe of the season and his 14th overall just 20 seconds into the third for a 2-1 Mav lead.  Clicks continued his goal scoring rampage twining the next three Milford (7-6) goals, including his team leading 15th total, to keep the contest from being a photo finish against the speedy and well coached Warriors. Mav tendy Cooper Langley was outstanding between the pipes with 40 saves including a mid third period cross-crease, diving, glove extended snatch to maintain Milford's two goal cushion before Captain Clicks left the Warriors in the dust with two late unassisted goals.  Clickett's efforts, while he continues to recover from a lingering illness, earned him The Chain and much love from his Milford Hockey Brothers. The Mavs remain in contention to repeat last year's LVC Conference Championship with tonight's victory and host Conference foe Lakes Area Unified (Waterford Mott/Kettering, Walled Lake Central, West Bloomfield) Wednesday, 8PM at Hartland.

Mavs Lose: 2 - 7
Walled Lake Western/Pinckney Unified had a firm grip on the reins, held tight to the bit and put an end to the Maverick's four game winning streak with a well-executed 7-2 victory Wednesday night at Hartland. Milford held a 2-1 lead after one period with Alex Kozar scoring with an assist to Craig Borges before Junior Griffin Cook netted his first career high school goal with an unassisted tally late in the first. Cook's goal was the last the time the Mavs would light the lamp, even though they had three clear breakaways and many good chances throughout the remainder of the contest. The fast and skilled Unifieds peppered Mav tendy Cooper Langley with 38 tota shots and scored their seventh goal on an empty Milford net with 2:36 to go. The game was tight, despite the lopsided score, and the Mavs have a lot to be proud of, winning four of five games in a tough eight day stretch that would test any hockey team's mettle. The Mavs are pretty much off until January 3 when they get 2023 rolling with three practices before facing WLW/Pinckney in the second game of a back-to-back series January 7, 7PM at KVIH in Brighton. Thank you for your support and Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to our Mav Families and our awesome Student Section, Administration and Community! Enjoy your Holidays and Be Safe...

Mavs Win: 4 - 1
The Mavs stayed hot despite a lackluster and alarmingly undisciplined first period to win their fourth in a row over the Genesee Generals Monday evening at the beautiful Dort Financial Center in Flint, home of the OHL's Flint Firebirds. Caleb Simpson gave the Generals the lead late in the first on a Power Play goal before Milford (6-5) answered with two quick 4v3 Power Play goals of their own to start the second period, Sophomore Alex Kozar from Thomas Kennedy IV and Freshmen Craig Borges from Kozar just 30 seconds apart to flip the script for a Milford 2-1 lead.  Captain Jack Clickett sniped a PP goal with assists from Ryan Okragly and Kennedy IV with just over a minute remaining in the contest before Clicks finished it off with an Open Netter with 36 seconds left to complete the scoring. Cooper Langley made 28 saves for Milford, including a huge right pad kick save on a deflection late in the third to keep the Generals from knotting the game at two. Senior Captain Shane Quinn earned the 'Chain' for his outstanding defensive effort tonight and rock solid play and durability on the back end in each of the Mav's eleven games this season. Milford hosts LVC Conference foe Walled Lake Western/Pinckney Unified (5-2-1) Wednesday 6PM at Hartland in a tilt that should be an entertaining contest with two similar hard working clubs vying for Conference supremacy. C'mon out and help the boys roll in their fifth game in eight days and hopefully fifth straight win!

Mavs Win: 5 - 2
The Mavs picked up their third win a row and second in as many nights with a hard fought 5-2 victory over LVC Conference foe Lakes Area Saturday night at Lakeland. LA scored first just four minutes into the contest before Milford's Will Fulton answered with an assist from Joe "Hollywood" Meagher a couple minutes later followed by Captain Jack Clickett's Power Play goal, with help from Alex Kozar and Fulton halfway through the first, to stake the Mavs to a lead they'd never relinquish. Senior Thomas Kennedy IV scored on the empty LA net with 45 seconds to go to make it 5-2 and ice the game.  Four year DMan Kennedy IV banked a shot from the top of Milford's own zone circle top into the unguarded LA net, a Minnesota Fats feat, which was a beautiful thing considering the Mav's emphasis on using the seventh man.  Multisport star 'IV' was awarded the "Chain' for his stellar defensive effort, unique empty net tally and unlimited energy/compete level (thanks to Milford's Hall of Fame Cross Country Coach Sal)! Milford netminder Cooper Langley was his usual solid self with 35 saves while Lakes Area tendy Tyler Long was also strong between the pipes to keep Lakes Area within striking distance with several point blank stops. Fulton finished with a goal and two assists, Clickett had 2 goals and one assist, red hot Ryan Okragly had one and one, and Kozar had two apples. The Mavs have the day off Sunday before boarding the yellow tank for a Monday 5PM tilt against the Genessee Generals Unified (hard to keep up with which high schools are represented by the Generals) and then finish off the 2022 campaign Wednesday at Home in an LVC Conference battle against Walled Lake Western/Pinckney Unified at 6PM. Thank You for your support and Go Mavs!

Mavs Win: 9 - 1
The Mavs (4-5) won their second in a row with a convincing 9-1 victory over LVC foe South Lyon Unified Friday night at KVIH. Sophomore Will Fulton lit up the score sheet with 2 goals and 4 assists, a rare 6 point night, which earned him the Mav of The Game 'Chain.'  Will was a force at both ends while back checking with purpose in his best game as a Mav.  Senior Ryan Okragly continued his red-hot goal scoring streak with his second hatty in a row and his team leading twelfth goal while also chipping in with two helpers! Freshmen Craig Borges got the Mavs rolling with a quick release snipe from the slot with six minutes remaining in the first, the first of five consecutive goals for Milford.  SLU's Ethan Daugherty made it 5-1 before crafty Krags did his best Pele' imitation with a redirect off of a Brady Flanigan shot to extend Milford's lead to five and followed two minutes later with a rebound fill to stretch the Mav's lead to six going into the third. Fulton scored twice in the final stanza to clinch the big win for Milford. Mav tendy Cooper Langley finished with 27 saves while SLU goaltender Ethan Shamberger made 33 stops. Senior Captain Jack Clickett scored twice and had an apple in his needed return to the lineup, Sophomore Alex Kozar netted his seventh of the season, Junior Stevan Vujic had three assists, while DMen Shane Quinn and Flanigan were credited with helpers. Milford welcomed and are excited to have new Student Manager Brendan Slaughter who told the Team in a post game speech that he thoroughly enjoyed the positive energy and intensity of Mav Hockey in his first experience as a member the Club. The Mavs have a quick turnaround as they travel to Lakeland this Saturday night, 8PM, to face league opponent Lakes Area, a unified team consisting of Walled Lake Central, West Bloomfield, and Waterford's Mott and Kettering. If you're looking for some inexpensive and entertaining entertainment, head East to Lakeland Saturday and help root the Hockey Mavs on to victory as we are determined to defend last year's league championship and appreciate your support more than you know! Thank you and Go Mavs! Where you at Moose?

Mavs Win: 7 - 2
Senior Ryan Okragly notched a hat trick, including a highlight reel breakaway deke goal after stick handling around six Patriots, two of the same players twice, before he left the Livonia Franklin goalie out to dry as Krags led the Mavs to Wednesday night's 7-2 win at Eddie Edgar. Milford's special teams were hot with four Power Play goals and two Shortys in the non-conference game against a well-coached, but undermanned Patriot club that only had ten skaters to Milford's thirteen players. Mav Sophomore backup tendy Jesse Lee experienced his first regular season game action and made eight saves on ten shots while holding down the fort in the third period, to the the delight of his teammates and especially his goaltending Brother, Cooper Langley, who continued his own focused and stellar play with nineteen saves without a goal during the first two frames.  Jesse has only been playing goalie since September and with Cooper's and former Mav goaler Tyler Kerr's help, looked like he'd been playing a heckuva a lot longer than that.  Anybody remember Mav legend BAGS (Build A Goalie), Chase Tabor? Jesse is BAGS II! The Pats had trouble containing Sophomore Alex Kozar, who utilized his speed to finish with two goals and two assists. Will Fulton had another strong game at both ends of the ice sheet and tucked in a third period wrap-around shortly after Franklin had cut the deficit to four in the third period, to pretty much seal the deal for the Mavs with 13 minutes remaining and a five goal lead. Junior DMan Brady Flanigan scored from the point on a PP late in the second period, while Thomas Kennedy IV, Crag Borges, Shane Quinn and Fulton each had helpers. The Mavs (3-5) are back in LVC League action Friday against South Lyon Unified, 5PM at KVIH before heading to Lakeland Arena Saturday night against league foe Lakes Area at 8.

Mavs Lose: 1 - 2
The Mavs and Eagles emptied their tanks before Lakeland scored four minutes into overtime for a 2-1 victory Saturday night at Lakeland in a Classic rivalry game that had the packed arena on the edge of their seats the entire game. Both tendys were outstanding with the Mavs' Cooper Langley finishing with 52 saves while his Lakeland counterpart Paul Baker had 27 stops for the victory in the 17th Annual Matt Langley Memorial Foundation game.  Lakeland wrested the Langley Trophy from Milford, who had won it last year. The  undefeated Eagles' (6-0) Brennan Grant scored with 1:24 left in the second period to stake Lakeland to a 1-0 lead.  Milford's Ryan Okragly scored his team leading 6th goal of the season with just over 5 minutes remaining in the third to tie it up and give the short-benched and undermanned Mavs (2-5) life. The Eagles pressured Milford and keeper Langley in OT before Lakeland's Luke Weinberger banged home a rebound for the victory halfway through the 8 minute session. It was fittingly 'High School Hockey Day' in Michigan and those in attendance were treated to an awesome night of high school hockey - boisterous student sections, packed stands, spectators wrapped around the glass, huge saves, and both school's student-athletes leaving it all out on the ice sheet while representing their respective schools and communities.

Mavs Lose: 3 - 5
The Mavs lost to the Birmingham Unified Kings (Groves and Seaholm) 5-3 Wednesday night at Hartland. BU scored three goals in a two minute span at the start of the second period and netted a short handed breakaway to take a four goal lead with five minutes remaining in the second before Milford got on the board with under 30 seconds to go in the period with a Power Play snipe by Sophomore Will Fulton with an assist from Sophomore Alex Kozar. The Mavs pulled to within two, 4-2, just 30 seconds into the third period wih Freshmen Craig Borges filling his first of the season aided by Kozar's second assist of the night.  BU struck again with their third unassisted goal for a three goal cushion with a healthy thirteen minutes remaining. The Mavs pulled Junior tendy Cooper Langley for the extra attacker with five minutes to go resulting in Fulton's second goal of the night with an assist to Senior Captain Shane Quinn to make it 5-3, but that was as close as Milford would get. Langley ended up with 39 saves while his counterpart for BU, Joaquin Robinson, had 32 stops. The Mavs travel to Lakeland Arena Saturday night, 8PM, as they look to defend their LVC Conference Championship against rival Lakeland in Milford's first league contest of the season.  The game is also for the Matt Langley Foundation Trophy, a local, non-profit organization that provides yearly scholarships to both a Mav and Eagle hockey player while also helping fund life-saving heart checks for our youth. Hope the stands are full for this always exciting rivalry battle!

Milford enjoyed a balanced scoring attack with Sophomore Alex Kozar netting the three goal Hatty, Senior Alternate Captain Ryan Okragly had a deuce and a helper, which, along with his intense defensive effort, earned Krags the coveted "Chain" (awarded to the Team's MVP as awarded by the Team/Coaches), Clicks finished with two and two and his team leading eleventh point, Fulton had a goal and two assists, Junior Stevan Vujic had two assists, and Matthew Menzies, Craig Borges, Ari Snider, Thomas Kennedy IV and Joe Meagher each had apples. Mavs Lose: 1 - 5
Mav tendy Cooper Langley continued his strong play despite Milford's 5-1 loss to the Sault Ste. Marie Blue Devils Friday night at the Chi Mukwa Arena in The Soo.  Langley made 49 saves to keep the Mavs close until late in the game against a physical and talented Blue Devils club. Ryan Okragly scored for the Mavs in the second period to bring Milford within one with assists from Captain Jack Clickett and Freshmen Craig Borges.  But the Blue Devils continued pressuring the Mavs, eventually wearing Milford down and putting the game out of reach with two late goals in the third period. The Mavs were lucky to make it to The Soo after experiencing brake issues on the Mackinac Bridge that ultimately rendered their bus unusable.  Milford was able to get to their hotel and rink with help from their Lakeland Hockey brethren, who were able to send their bus from Sault Ste. Marie to St. Ignace to pick up the stranded Mavs. Milford was making their sixth consecutive appearance in the Soo Eagles Showcase, which usually turns out to be the Team's favorite part of the season, along with fellow competing teams Lakeland, Big Rapids and Sault Ste. Marie.
