Huron Valley United Gymnastics won its first LVC meet of the season beating both Walled Lake Gold and Walled Lake Maroon.  HVU scored a 139.125, WLG112.95 and WLM 118.775.

Top scores on vault were 9.75 from IA sophomore Maeve Spicer and 9.35 from Lakeland junior Nicole Graham.  Top bar scores were Maeve with an 8.8 and Milford junior Laura Nowicki with an 8.6.  Top beam score was Lakeland senior Rachel Palaian with a 9.1.  Top floor scores were Nicole Graham with an 8.925 and Lakeland freshman Ava Barwikowski with an 8.6.  

Huron Valley United Gymnastics hosted its first meet of the year against the defending state champs, Farmington United on Friday night.  They turned in a great performance and lost by only .75.  Score was Farmington United 141.225, Huron Valley United 140.475.  Top performers on vault were Lakeland senior Rachel Palaian with an 8.8 and Lakeland junior Paige Elwood with an 8.6.  Top scores on bars for HVU were IA sophomore Maeve Spicer with an 8.75 and Lakeland junior, Nicole Graham with an 8.5.  On beam, Nicole earned the highest score of the meet with a 9.6 and Rachel had a 9.125.  Top floor scores were Milford junior, Laura Nowicki with a 9.325 and Nicole Graham with a 9.2.  The team is excited for getting off to a good start and looking forward to the rest of the season!
