The Mavs fell behind a solid Walled Lake Western Warriors 4-0 one minute into the second period before Freshmen Mack Musialowski one timed a perfect feed from Junior Kazuma Bowring in the last minute of the period to make it 4-1 after two.

The Warriors (10-3) scored the next three goals within the first six minutes of the third, two power play goals on a few questionable game changing calls that ruined any chance of a Mavericks (9-9) comeback, helping the Warriors to a 7-1 lead.

Senior Captain Ben Kozar scored from behind the net with assists to Senior Tyler Tori and Bowring, his second of the game, to make it 7-2 with 7:32 left in the game, and that's how it ended.

Senior Mav tendy Tyler Kerr made 49 saves on the night, while his counterpart Will Virtamo had 31.

Western's Tommy Patrick had a big night with the hat trick and two assists, while Jeff Petruno had two goals and a helper for the Warriors.
