The Mavs escaped with a hard fought 5-4 overtime victory over a big and determined Walled Lake Northern Knights Thursday night at Hartland.

Milford tendy Tyler Kerr made 44 saves, a couple of the "how'd he do that?!" variety and earned the Mav MVP Chain awarded to Milford's 'Player of the Game.'

The Mavs welcomed the return of leading scorer Austin Combs, who missed the last game with an upper body injury, as he scored two goals, including the game winner in OT.  Tristan Ingram-Reeve scored his first of the season on a power play rebound, Ben Kozar scored on a sweet breakaway deke and Adam Moule filled with a well placed shot from the slot.  Kaz Bowring had three assists, Mack Musialowski and Tyler Tori each had two, and Pierce Ashcroft had one.

Milford was successful on two of its three power play opportunities and played a disciplined game with just two penalties.

The Mavs take on rinkmates Fenton Linden Griffins Saturday 1PM at Hartland before enjoying a six day, well deserved rest and recovery period over the Holiday break.

Fenton Linden is the Home team Saturday, so the MavManiacs and Mav Faithful will be using the stands across from the visitors' bench.
