South Lyon Runs Away With Early Lead in Victory

Milford Mavericks Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in an 11-0 loss to South Lyon on Tuesday. South Lyon scored on a triple by Lena Monteith in the first inning.

The Milford Mavericks Varsity struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing South Lyon, giving up 11 runs.

In the first inning, South Lyon got their offense started. Monteith tripled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
One bright spot for Milford Mavericks Varsity was a single by Devon Beale in the third inning.

Alexis Bonk took the win for South Lyon. She went five innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out 11 and walking one.

Jenna Carlisle took the loss for Milford Mavericks Varsity. She lasted five innings, allowing 12 hits and ten runs while striking out one.

Beale led Milford Mavericks Varsity with one hit in two at bats.

South Lyon collected 12 hits on the day. Monteith, Kendra Blackie, Olivia Vitale, and Bonk each racked up multiple hits for South Lyon. Monteith went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead South Lyon in hits.
