The Mavericks got back to .500 on the season with a closer than the score indicated 5-1 victory Thursday night against a well coached Ann Arbor Father Gabriel Richard/Greenhills.

The Irish took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission with a goal from Jack Lapinski with help from Stephen Holody.

But Milford (11-11) scored the next five goals, led by leading scorer Austin Combs who scored just 14 seconds into the second to tie it, with assists from Nick Bow and Pierce Ashcroft.  Kazuma Bowring was in the right place at the right time, as usual, and banged in a beauty off of a behind the net bump feed from Combs with a secondary to Ashcroft late in the period to give the Mavs a 2-1 lead after two.

Milford struck again within the first minute of the third, Ashcroft from Combs and fellow liney Mack (Moose) Musialowski to put the Mavs up by two.  The Mavs netted two late period power play goals, Ashcroft from Bowring and Combs and Ben Kozar from Thomas Kennedy and Tyler Tori.

Milford tendy Tyler Kerr finished with 33 saves on the night while Irish netty Jake Janowski had 29.

Nick Bow was awarded the coveted Mav Chain for his solid defensive performance.

The Mavs host the Bay Area Thunder Saturday night 7:30 at Hartland and then celebrate their graduating Seniors February 15 against the M-1 Griffins 7:30 on Senior Night.
