The Mavs lost to the West Bloomfield Lakers (5-2) Saturday afternoon at Lakeland 4-2.

Milford (7-4) fired 15 shots on the Lakers Steven McCotter in the first period, but was unable push the puck over the goal line, resulting in a 0-0 knot after one.

West Bloomfield's Evan Pelkey scored the first of his four goals early in the second period to give the Lakers the lead before the Mavs' Tyler Tori tied it with assists from Liam Markell and Ben Kozar late in the period.  Pelkey netted his second with two minutes left to give the Lakers a 2-1 lead after two.

Milford's Kozar tied it at the 13:25 mark of the third period with helpers from Luke McIntyre and Adam Moule, but the Lakers converted two power play goals for the 4-2 victory.

The Mavs' Tyler Kerr kept Milford in the game with some spectacular saves and finished with 31 stops while McCotter had 37.

Milford hosts league foe Walled Lake Northern Thursday 7PM at Hartland in their final home game of the decade. 

The boys are hoping that the Stable is full Thursday with the MavManiacs, the best student section in the State!
