Milford Mavericks Varsity Loses Lead Early in Defeat

Milford Mavericks Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 17-0 loss to South Lyon on Tuesday. South Lyon scored on a single by Lena Monteith, a groundout by Olivia Vitale, a double by Ella Vitale, and a single by Alexis Bonk in the first inning.

The Milford Mavericks Varsity struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing South Lyon, giving up 17 runs.

South Lyon got things moving in the first inning, when Monteith singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.
One bright spot for Milford Mavericks Varsity was a single by Taylor Mitchell in the third inning.

Monteith was credited with the victory for South Lyon. She surrendered zero runs on two hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking zero.

Jenna Carlisle took the loss for Milford Mavericks Varsity. She went two and a third innings, allowing 15 runs on 13 hits.

Mitchell and Lauren Carrannanto each collected one hit to lead Milford Mavericks Varsity.

South Lyon had 16 hits in the game. Kinsey Nally, Bonk, Vitale, and Monteith each had multiple hits for South Lyon.

After the games, Seniors Allison Smith), Zoe Shettler, Lauren Carrannanto and Jenna Carlisle were honored for their careers with Milford Softball.
