Milford Mavericks Varsity Grabs Lead in Sixth Inning for Victory Over Walled Lake Central in rain shortened game.

Milford Mavericks Varsity took the lead late and defeated Walled Lake Central 9-8 on Thursday. The game was tied at eight with Milford Mavericks Varsity batting in the top of the sixth when Kayla Pennebaker doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

A four-run lead in the fourth inning was just enough for Milford Mavericks Varsity to hold off Walled Lake Central for the victory. Walled Lake Central scored three runs in the failed comeback on a single by Rylie Josephson, a walk by Molly Padrock, and a single by Eliana Eiland.

Walled Lake Central captured the lead in the first inning. Brenna Chatterson drove in two when she doubled.

Milford Mavericks Varsity put up four runs in the second inning. The offensive onslaught came from doubles by Zoe Shettler and Annabel Williamson and a walk by Amelia Price.

Sammy Knapp pitched Milford Mavericks Varsity to victory. She went one inning, allowing zero runs on zero hits and walking zero.

Emma McGrath took the loss for Walled Lake Central. She went five innings, allowing four runs on six hits, striking out four and walking one.
