Huron Valley United competed in the team and individual state finals this past weekend. They came in 11th place in the team competition against some really tough teams. Four gymnasts competed Saturday in the individual competition: Lakeland sophomore Nicole Graham and IA freshman Maeve Spicer in the all around competition and Milford sophomore Laura Nowicki and Lakeland senior Erin Murphy in the floor exercise. Maeve, Laura and Erin all finished in the top 20 but Nicole was the big winner this weekend. She was consistent and clean on each event placing 10th on vault, 9th on bars, 6th on beam, 8th on floor and 3rd all around for Division 2. The team had a successful season going 8-2 in dual meets, LVC champs, 2nd at regionals and placing top 5 at invitationals this year.
