It was a good night for the Lady Mavericks Swim & Dive team as they defeated Waterford United last night 135 to 38. They also improved their LVC league meet record to 3-1.

"It was a different night for us" said Coach Kris Goodrich. "We're in the peak of our season and training really hard and we knew they had a smaller team so we swam some different events that many girls had never swam before. We did it to take some stress off physically and also for a little mental break. Next week we have two meets, one of which is Lakeland which is always a big meet. They did great in their off events and it was nice to see them challenge themselves".

Oakland County Meet:

Last weekend six of the Lady Mavericks also competed at the Oakland County meet at Waterford Mott on Saturday, October 6. The 200 Medley relay, 200 Freestyle relay, and 400 Freestyle relay teams all improved their scores and are closing on the state cut times. Abby Adams, Emily Costanzo, Elise Elliot, Rylie Kennedy, Anna Malik and Grace Smetana all combine to form those relays and swam outstanding. In individual events, Anna Malik qualified for the 500 Freestyle with a state cut time of 5:26.96 and Rylie Kennedy qualified for the 50 Freestyle (24.69) and 100 Freestyle (54.06). The Lady Mavs placed 20 out of 26 teams competing at County meet.

Next up for the team is Tuesday, 10/16 away vs. South Lyon East and Thursday, 10/16 home against Lakeland.
