The Mavs picked up their fifth win in the past six games by defeating D1 state ranked Grandville Bulldogs 6-4 Saturday night at Hartland.
Milford (6-6) took a 3-2 lead into the third after James Pennebaker banged home a rebound with just 16 ticks left in the second period. The Mavs followed that with two power play goals in the first minute of the third to make it 5-2. The Bulldogs (10-2) scored two goals with their goalie pulled in the last three minutes of the game to make it interesting, but the Mavs held on for the big 'W.'
Mack Musialowski led Milford with 2 goals and 2 assists, Pierce Ashcroft had a goal and 2 assists, Matthew Rowe and Jack Clickett both had one and one, and Adam Moule, Stevan Vujic and Thomas Kennedy IV each had an assist.
Sophomore Cooper Langley continued his strong play with 34 saves to backstop the Mavs to the upset win.
Milford plays league foes Walled Lake Northern and Lakeland this week before traveling to Royal Oak for a Saturday matinee against the highly ranked M-1 Griffins.
