Mav's Captain Adam Moule lit the lamp just 14 seconds off the opening draw to set the tone for Milford's 8-5 win over Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard/Greenhills Unified Wednesday night at home.
The Mavs improved to 5-4, while the early season, highly ranked Irish fell to 3-1.
Milford was led by Junior Moose Musialowski with three goals and four assists, which put him in the top ten of all high school point getters, while Senior liney Pierce Aschroft had a big night with a hatty plus three assists. Moule filled the stat sheet with four helpers along with his early goal, and Brenden Maszatics netted a short handed goal in the third to put the game pretty much out of reach, and also assisted on one of Moose's hat trick snipes. Junior Jack Clickett chipped in with an assist and is on the verge of being a stat sheet stuffer probably as soon as the next game.
Sophomore tendy Cooper Langley made 33 saves in net for the win, including a couple of third period beauties to preserve the Mavs third victory in a row.
The Mavs' demeanor and focus were helped by last year's Captains Austin Combs and Zoom Bowring pepping out in the locker room during the period breaks, which certainly contributed to tonight's big win.
Milford hosts league foe SLU Unified (South Lyon and South Lyon East) Saturday at home at 7:30PM.
